Nagar Reporter: An arrest warrant has been issued against Nurul Haque Noor, president of the Public Rights Council and former VP of Daksu, in a Digital Security Act case filed in Chittagong for allegedly insulting Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury. Yesterday, April 15, Chittagong Divisional Cyber Tribunal Judge Mohammad Zahirul Kabir ordered the arrest warrant after the court hearing. Earlier in June 2022, panel lawyer Shahriar Tanim of Chittagong City Corporation filed a case in court.
Cyber Tribunal Public Prosecutor Mejbah Uddin confirmed the issue of the arrest warrant. He said that on June 1, 2022, the accused called a rally in the name of Noor Chhatra Jubo Adhikar Parishad and insulted the Bangladesh Chhatra League, the Prime Minister, and the Education Minister in various ways. After that, he spread the video on Facebook. In the video, the education minister is called a ‘gangster’. When a case was filed on June 14, 2022, the court ordered the investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department of the police on June 28. After the investigation, the investigating officer submitted the report to the court on February 6 this year.
