For the first time, a Saudi Arabian film at the Cannes Film Festival

Entertainment Desk: Like every year, the Cannes Film Festival is appearing with different varieties. This is the first time that a film from Saudi Arabia has gotten a place in this festival.

The official nomination list for the 77th Cannes Film Festival has already been released. For the first time in 78 years, the movie ‘Nora’ is participating in the official section from Saudi Arabia at the Cannes Festival.

It is directed by Tausif Alzaedi. The movie tells the story of a conservative society in the 1990s. Where will be shown the picture of the Saudi social reality of that time? The movie depicts the struggle of a girl at that time. Maria Bahravi played the main role of Nora.

Cannes festival director Thierry Fremaux announced the list of festival nominations at a press conference. He said that more than two thousand films were submitted to the Cannes festival this year.

The festival will continue from May 15 to 25.
