Khulna Correspondent: A woman named Swarna Akhter (20) gave birth to a baby boy on the Rajshahi-bound Antanagar Kapotaksh Express train from Khulna. At present, the mother and child have been taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. The child was born on Monday (July 8) at 11:40 a.m..
Swarna, who gave birth on the train, is the wife of Yasin Arafat of Hugri Pantapara village of Pantapara union in Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah.
Train duty director (guard) Ilyas Kabir told reporters that on Monday (April 8) morning, the Rajshahi-bound Kapotaksh Express train left Khulna from Khulna. When Darshana reached the railway station around 9:30 am, the pregnant woman boarded compartment ‘E’ along with her family. When the train reached Bheramara railway station around 11:15 p.m., the woman went into labor.
An announcement was made to Mike asking if there was a doctor on the train immediately. After hearing the announcement in a private hospital in Dhaka, neonatologist and pediatrician Dr. Nazneen Akhter quickly came to compartment ‘E’ and introduced herself. Later, with his help, the midwife gave birth to a boy at 11:40.
Dr. Nazneen Akhter said I was going to Rajshahi from Alamdanga by train. After hearing the miking, I went to the ‘E’ compartment. There, the child was seated on a three-seater chair with clothes hanging from it. The baby was born healthy. So there was no problem. Currently, mother and child are healthy.
Pakshi Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Shah Sufi Noor Mohammad said that after the train reached Rajshahi station, it was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment with the help of senior railway officials. Currently, mother and child are healthy.
