Train movement is normal in Ishwardi

Ishwardi Correspondent: Train communication with Khulna has been normalized after 7 hours of collision between an oil train and a cargo train at Ishwardi in Pabna. Railway services were restored at around 7 a.m. on Wednesday (March 27).

Shah Sufi Noor Mohammad, Manager of Western Region Railway, confirmed the fact that on Tuesday night at 11:45 p.m., a train with an empty wagon of oil bound for Khulna from Ishwardi crossed the Ishwardi level crossing gate and hit a freight shunting wagon pushing from the opposite direction. 8 wheels of 2 freight wagons and all the wheels of the locomotive were derailed.

After about 7 hours of this incident, railway communication was normalized around 7 a.m. A rescue train from the Ishwardi Locomotive Factory first rescued the freight train. After about an hour, the oil train was rescued.

The Pakshi Divisional Railway Authority suspended two drivers of the train along with the assistant station master for negligence in the incident. Besides, a four-member investigation committee has been formed. They were dismissed through an office order from Train Control of Pakshi Divisional Railway Headquarters at 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

Pakshi Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Western Railway, Shah Sufi Noor Mohammad, confirmed this information.

The suspended railway employees are Assistant Station Master Mahbooba Shahinoor, Loco Master (LM) KM Hamidullah, and Assistant Loco Master (ALM) Junaid Hossain of Pabna Ishwardi Railway Junction Station.
