The Teknaf border shook again with the sound of an explosion in Myanmar

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Shahpari Island and Saint Martin in Teknaf shook again with the sound of mortar shell explosions and gunfire in Myanmar’s Rakhine. This has spread panic among the residents of the border.

Gunfire was heard from several villages north and south of Maungdoo township in Rakhine State from morning to afternoon on Tuesday (March 26). Teknaf Shahpari Island Union Parishad member (UP) Abdus Salam confirmed the matter.

UP member Abdus Salam said the border of Shahpari Island is shaking with the sound of Myanmar’s gunfire. The sound of the other side is available every half an hour. The sound of yesterday’s gunfire is being heard in different areas on Shahpari Island.

Women and children living on the border are in fear. BGB and Coast Guard members have increased day and night patrolling in the 54-kilometer Naf River from Huaikong to Shahpari Island in the upazila. BGB and the Coast Guard are ready to deal with any situation.

After this incident, along with the strengthening of BGB patrols on the border, the commander of Teknaf-2 BGB, Lieutenant Colonel Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed,.

Kaleem Ullah, a teacher at Shahpari Island Government Primary School, said that after being closed for some time, the sound of heavy gunfire is being heard again on the border of Shahpari Island. Since Seheri, there have been very loud noises coming from across Myanmar.
