The body of the police constable was found but the child was not found

Kishoreganj Correspondent: The body of police constable Sohel Rana of Bhairab Highway Police Station, who was missing in the incident of trawler sinking due to the impact of bulkhead in Meghna river, has been recovered. Only Police Constable Sohel Rana’s infant Raisul is missing in this accident.

Constable Sohail Rana’s body was recovered from the Bhairav fish nesting area of Meghna River on Monday (March 25) morning. BIWTA Deputy Director and Head of Rescue Unit Pratya Obaidul Karim confirmed the truth of the incident.

Saturday (March 23) night, the trawler was pushed by the steering wheel and engine engineer accused of the missing police constable Md. Sohel Rana’s father. Abdul Alim filed a case at Ashuganj police station in Brahmanbaria. However, the names of the accused have not been mentioned in the statement of the case.

Superintendent of Police Abdullah Al Mamun, who is in additional charge of Naval Police Kishoreganj Zone, said that the case has been filed at Brahmanbaria’s Ashuganj Police Station due to the location of the incident. However, the Naval Police has started an investigation. Besides arresting the accused and identifying the bulkhead, operations are going on.

It is to be noted that an unknown bulkhead hit a trawler carrying 21 passengers under the Syed Nazrul Islam Bridge of the Meghna River at around six o’clock last Friday and sank immediately. Twelve of the trawler’s passengers were rescued alive. In this incident, the bodies of 8 passengers of the trawler have been recovered till Monday morning.
