Nagar Reporter: On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, the advance sale of train tickets to domestic passengers is starting on Sunday. Like last time, this time no ticket will be sold in advance of Eid Yatra at the counter. 100% of tickets will be sold online through the railway website, the Railseva apps, and the Sahaj.com platform. Passengers have to collect Eid in advance from these apps through their own mobile device or by going to any online store.
Engineer Saiful Islam, Divisional Manager of Railway Eastern Region, told the media that separate timings have been set for passengers of eastern and western regions as last time in order to avoid the server suffering when passengers of eastern and western regions buy tickets together online. Online ticket sales will start at 8 a.m. in the eastern region. Online ticket sales will start at 2 p.m. in the western region.
He said tickets for April 3 travel will be available on March 24, April 4 tickets will be available on March 25, April 5 tickets will be available on March 26, April 6 tickets will be available on March 27, April 7 tickets will be available on March 28, and April 8 tickets will be available on March 29. Tickets for March and April 9 will be available on March 30.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of Eid, one pair of special trains will run on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar route. The two trains will run for three days before Eid on April 8 and 9, the day after Eid, said Engineer Saiful Islam, Divisional Railway Manager of Eastern Railway.

8 pairs of special trains will run: Chandpur Eid Special (four trains) on the Chittagong-Chandpur route; Mymensingh Eid Special (two trains) on the Chittagong-Mymensingh route; and Dewanganj Eid Special (two trains) on the Dhaka-Dewanganj route. These trains will run from April 5 to the day before Eid and from the day after Eid for five days.
Sholakia Eid Special (two trains) on the Bhairab Bazar-Kishorganj route and Sholakia Eid Special (two trains) on the Mymensingh-Kishorganj route will run only on Eid days. Eid Special (two trains) on the Joydevpur-Parvatipur route will run for three days before Eid, from April 7th to April 9th, and from the second day to three days after Eid.
On the occasion of Eid, the railway will be able to carry 33 thousand passengers per day. An additional 25 percent of the seats on each train will be given standing tickets on the day of departure.
