Among the wide green paddy fields, purple leaf rice is catching everyone’s attention.
Purple paddy fields can be seen on the surface, adorning the vast green. This purple color brings a new dimension to nature. A few farmers, including Manoranjan Nath and Rupam Nath, local farmers, have cultivated this purple-colored rice for the first time on 40th-century land. Pedestrians stopped to see this paddy field on the way. Many were also seen taking pictures in this paddy field.
It is known that this rice is full of beauty and nutrition. It has anti-cancer and anti-diabetic properties that help in the production of antibodies in the human body. It takes a maximum of 130–140 days from planting to ripening. The yield per acre is also quite good, as the number of heads per bunch of this rice is higher than other types of rice. Compared to other rice, this rice is thin, but it has a lot of nutrients. This rice is delicious to eat.
According to Upazila Agriculture Office sources, this variety of rice has been cultivated in various agricultural fields in Rangunia for the past few years.

Purple rice farmers Manoranjan Nath and Rupam Nath said that they collected seeds from Bilaichari on their own initiative and cultivated this rice as a hobby. Now the age of paddy is 30–35 days. In the meantime, the paddy field has become quite beautiful. They also expected a good yield.
Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Umme Salma said that every day, besides the local farmers, eager people are rushing to see this new variety of rice. Many are also taking pictures. Everyone is interested in this purple rice. Many are already contacting us to get seeds. He said that he is helping farmers by giving them necessary advice.
Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Uttar Kumar Sheel said the specialty of this rice is that both the rice plant and the rice are purple. This nutrient-rich purple rice has anti-cancer and anti-diabetic properties, which help in the production of antibodies in the human body.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Imrul Kayes said that this type of cultivation is usually done during the Boro season. The attack of disease and insects is much less in this rice of the Ufshi variety. Farmers are becoming interested in the cultivation of this variety. These paddy fields are regularly monitored by the Agriculture Office.
