The first identity card distribution program was started by the Barahatia Union of the Upazila on Thursday morning, March 21. Senior Election Officer of Chittagong District, Enamul Haque, was the special guest on the occasion. Lohagara Upazila Election Officer Md. Abdul Sukkur and Barahatia Union Parishad Chairman Bijay Kumar Bara spoke in it. Lohagara Police Inspector (Investigation) Khairul Islam, along with local leaders, teacher representatives, Barahatia Union Parishad members, and smart identity card recipients.
The importance of a smart national identity card was highlighted in the speeches of the speakers and the chief guest. The upazila election officer said that this identity card will be distributed to every union in Lohagara. 1 lakh, 80 thousand, and 246 people will get smart national identity cards in 9 unions under Upazila. Among them are 20 thousand 696 people in Lohagara, 22 thousand 484 people in Barahatia, 26 thousand 262 people in Amirabad, 25 thousand 105 people in Padua, 16 thousand 310 people in Charmba, 20 thousand 383 people in Kalauzhan, 14 thousand 894 people in Putibila, 20 thousand 53 people in Chunti, and 14 thousand 59 people in Adhunagar.
