Dhaka Bureau: RAB has arrested nine people, including the office assistant of Sahaj.com, the company responsible for selling tickets, on the charge of black-marketing train tickets. They were arrested in Kamalapur and Sabuj Bagh in the capital on Thursday night. This information was reported from RAB-3 on Friday (March 22).

According to RAB, one of the owners of the nationwide train ticket black market ring and the office assistant of Sahaj.com, which has a contract with Bangladesh Railway, Mizan Dhali, the operator, and two others have been arrested in the ticket black market ring.

The arrested are Mizan Dhali, Md. Sohel Dhali, Md. Suman, Md. Jahangir Alam, Md. Shahjalal Hossain, Md. Russell, Md. Zainal Abedin, Md. Sabur Hawladar, and Newton Biswas.

According to RAB, the gang led by Mizan, the leader of the nationwide train ticket black-marketing Dhali syndicate, had been black-marketing almost all the train tickets of Bangladesh Railway for a long time. Mizan has been associated with the contracted companies for railway ticket booking for a long time. joins as

Later, he was reinstated as an experienced employee when he was contracted to CNS.DTBD for ticket booking by Bangladesh Railways. In 2020, when the railway ticket contract was finally awarded to Sahaja.com, Mizan’s job was retained there as well. Having been associated with ticketing contractors for a long time, his familiarity with the office of sahaja.com at various stations across the country and with the employees of major railway stations grew. He used to sell huge amounts of tickets through various manipulations involving members of Sahaj Datecom at various stations, ticket counters, and other members of black market circles based on his identity. Sahaj.com’s Kamalapur Railway Station server room operator Newton Biswas was arrested, station representative Sabur Howladar, and absconders Abdul Mottalib, Ashiqur Rahman, and others are involved in the black market of the said tickets.

RAB also said that Mizan and Sohail, who were arrested on the occasion of special holidays including Eid, Puja, and weekends, used to collect more tickets than normal times through various manipulations. Mizan and Sohail used to sell approximately 2–3 thousand railway tickets through the black market every year during the Eid season through Sahaja.com employees and ticket countermen at various stations across the country. It is said that they were planning to collect more tickets than before during the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to RAB, the money earned through the sale of tickets was divided into two parts: 50% was received by Sahaj.com and railway station ticket countermen, and the remaining 50% was shared among the syndicate owners, Mizan, Sohail, and other sales associates. It is known that sometimes they used to transfer this money in cash, and sometimes they used to transact through mobile banking.

According to RAB, each member of the syndicate used to earn Tk 20–25 thousand per month by illegally selling train tickets. In this way, the gang had been black-marketing train tickets across the country for a long time in connivance with each other.
