Dhaka Bureau: On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the advance sale of bus tickets is starting on Friday (March 22).
As per the decision of the Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association, advance tickets will be available at all inter-district bus counters starting this morning. At the same time, passengers can book advance tickets online.
Shubhankar Ghosh Rakesh, joint general secretary of the association and managing director of Shyamoli NR Travels, told reporters that the monitoring team will work on behalf of the bus owners so that the passengers can buy advance bus tickets from the counter in an orderly manner. No bus tickets will be black-marketed. Because the police administration will also work with the monitoring team of the bus owners. Apart from this, ticket black market and passenger harassment will also be prevented through the intelligence surveillance of the administration.
Eid-ul-Fitr may be celebrated in the country on April 11, subject to the sighting of the moon. This time, 5–6 days of holiday can be combined on Eid with the weekly holiday and the first Baisakh holiday.
