Moulvibazar Correspondent: The marriage of the plaintiff has been completed on the orders of the High Court with an accused in the case of women and children abuse in Moulvibazar District Jail. Moulvibazar District Jail Superintendent Mujibur Rahman Majumder confirmed this information.
Accused Ashish Bauri (35) and plaintiff Kunjumal (25) were married according to their own religious rules at Moulvibazar District Jail on Wednesday (March 20) afternoon. A priest performs their marriage ceremony according to religious norms. Assistant Commissioner Shawon Majumdar was present as a representative of the district administration.
Accused Ashish Bauri is the son of Sadanand Bauri of Indanagar tea garden in Uttarbhag Union of Rajnagar, Moulvibazar. Spouse Kunjumal is the daughter of deceased Manisha Mal from the same union.
It is known that Ashish raped Kunjumal on August 11, 2023 in the Indanagar tea garden of Rajnagar upazila. In this incident, the victim girl filed a case as plaintiff. On that day he was arrested and sent to jail in a case of abuse of women and children.
Meanwhile, the victim girl got pregnant and gave birth. She currently has a three-month-old child. In such a situation, the High Court ordered their marriage.
The family of the accused said that the marriage was completed on the orders of the court. The court said that the accused Ashish Bauri will be granted bail on the condition of marriage and after submission of valid proof of marriage in the court.
