Entertainment Desk: Chaim Band’s vocalist ‘If Sadness Comes From Himalayas’ famous singer Khalid is no more (Innalillahi… Rajiun).
He breathed his last at a private hospital in the capital on Monday (March 18) at 7:15 p.m. due to a heart attack. He was 56 years old.
This information was confirmed by lyricist and composer Prince Mahmud. His death has cast a shadow of mourning in various fields of showbiz, including music.
It is known that tonight he will be taken to his village home, Gopalganj. His burial will be completed on Tuesday after the funeral there.
Khalid is the artist of numerous popular songs such as ‘Sarlatar Pratima’, ‘Jatata Megh Hola Bristhi Naam’, ‘Kon Prabhi Fano Gaela Na Take’, ‘Hayni Jabaro Bela’, ‘If Himalaya Hye Duk Aase’, and ‘Tumi Nei Tai’. The song, which was once on the lips of different listeners in the neighborhood, was played in various shops, including Bipani-Bitaan. He was known in the eighties as Khalid of the band Chime.
Khalid settled in the United States with his family. He came to the country with his wife a few months ago. Khalid has been singing in the band Chime since 1983.
