Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth anniversary and National Children’s Day are celebrated in Lohagara

Own Correspondent: The birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day were celebrated in Lohagara, South Chittagong, through various programs. The program includes a painting competition, a discussion meeting, and doa mahfil. On this occasion, a discussion meeting was organized at the initiative of the Lohagara Upazila procession on Sunday, March 17 at 11 a.m. Member of Parliament Abdul Motaleb, CIP, was present as the chief guest in the discussion meeting held at the Upazila Parishad conference room.

Upazila Executive Officer Muhammad Inamul Hasan presided over the meeting.

Lohagara Upazila Awami League President Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman M. Ibrahim Kabir, Lohagara police station officer-in-charge Rashedul Islam, and Lohagara press club president Bir Muktijoddha Nurul Islam, Barahatia UP chairman Bijay Kumar Barua, Padua Union Parishad chairman Harunur Rashid, and upazila Ansar VDP officer Faizunnecha, among others. Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Nazmun Lael moderated the meeting organized by the Upazila Commission.

In the speech of the chief guest, the member of parliament, Abdul Motaleb CIP, said that the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, did not back down on the question of freedom despite suffering hundreds of imprisonments and tortures by the ruling oppressive group of Pakistan. If the father of the nation were alive, our country would have progressed much further in all aspects. The well-deserved daughter of the father of the nation urged everyone to come forward to build a smart Bangladesh under the leadership of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Upazila Parishad Acting Chairman Jasmine Akhtar, Lohagara Upazila Awami League General Secretary Salah Uddin Hiru, freedom fighter Syed Abdul Mabud, who returned to London, and various union parishad chairmen, political leaders, and officials of various departments of the Upazila administration participated in the discussion meeting.

At the end of the discussion meeting, various students who participated in the Chitrankan competition were awarded.
