Entertainment Desk: Star MLA Kanchan Mallick of Uttarpara started campaigning for Srirampur Trinamool candidate Kalyan Banerjee on Friday, March 15.
On Saturday (March 17), too, he wrote on the wall for Kalyan. But still,’missing” posters in the name of Trinamool MLA Kanchan are being read everywhere. The MLA claims that the opposition is doing all this deliberately. Hearing about the missing poster in his name again, Kanchan gets excited and says, “This is me. I have nothing to do with those who deliberately do not want to see me, even if they do.”
The opposition has alleged that actor Kanchan has not been seen much in his constituency since he became Uttarpara MLA. However, Kanchan was seen in Konnagar on Friday, campaigning in support of Kalyan. There are still missing posters in his name in Uttar Pradesh.
When he came to Uttarpara on Saturday to campaign in support of the Trinamool candidate of Srirampur, after hearing about the’missing’ poster in his name again, Kanchan said, “This is me! Yesterday in the Konnagar Kalyandar campaign, who? I am here. Not my ghost.”
He said, “The MLA has an office. Who sat there? How are MLA funds spent? Tell me who I will answer so much! This time, if those who can see do not want to see intentionally, then I have nothing to do. What can I do?”
On the other hand, BJP’s state committee member Prannoy Roy sarcastically said, “Kanchan Mallick’s honeymoon period is going on now. Now he cannot be found. That is normal. Of course, before or when he was found. Those who nominated Kanchan, the party that nominated him, should answer to the common man.”
However, the BJP leader claimed that the BJP has nothing to do with the poster. In his words, “Poster culture is grassroots. This poster was given by a group against them. We have nothing to do with it.”
