Dhaka Bureau: Jhenaidah-1 Constituency Member of Parliament and valiant freedom fighter Abdul Hai’s funeral was held today Sunday at Manik Mia Avenue No. 5 Parliament House premises.
At the end of the funeral, the Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh. On behalf of whips including Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury, Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku, and Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury, floral tributes were paid to the coffin. Tributes were also paid by the Bangladesh Awami League and the Jhenaidah Officers Forum.
Members of parliament, Awami League central leaders, and Jhenaidah district Awami League leaders participated in the funeral prayer.
Member of Parliament Abdul Hai will be buried in the family graveyard after the fourth Janaza in Mohammadpur village of Shailkupa upazila of Jhenaidah district.
It should be noted that MP Abdul Hai passed away in the early hours of March 16 while undergoing treatment at Bamrungrad Hospital in Thailand. The body of the deceased was brought to Dhaka from Thailand on a 1:50 flight. Later, his body was brought from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Manik Mia Avenue, No. 5, Parliament House premises.
