Legendary Rabindra musician Sadi Mohammad committed suicide

Entertainment desk: Rabindra singer Sadi Mohammed committed suicide. His death was reported around 9 p.m. on Wednesday (March 13). The news of his death was confirmed by dancer Shamim Ara Neepa.

Sadi Mohammad’s father, Shaheed Salimullah, studied Rabindra Sangeet at Visva Bharati University in India. In 1971, the house C-12/10 on Taj Mahal Road, Mohammadpur, was one of the hotbeds of the freedom movement. Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League leader Salim Ullah’s house used to have regular meetings with the top leaders of the party; Bangabandhu’s son Shaheed Sheikh Kamal also used to come.

On March 23, 1971, father Salimullah flew the flag of Bangladesh drawn by Sage’s son Sadi Mohammad Taqiullah in that house on Taj Mahal Road, and that flag was sewn by Sadi-Shibli’s mother, Jebunnesha Salimullah. Salimullah’s house became the target of attack by non-Bengali Biharis and Pakistani troops on March 26, 1971, due to the flag flying. The whole house was burned, and Salim Ullah was shot dead.

In July last year, Sadi Mohammad’s mother, Zebunnesha Salimullah, died.

Sadi Mohammad received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Rabindra Sangeet from Visva Bharati University. Although his main identity developed in Rabindra Sangeet, he was equally well known throughout the country in modern music. Many albums by Rabindra Sangeet have been released in his voice. With modern music. He was also working as the director of the cultural organization Ravirag.

In 2012, he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by Channel I. He received the Rabindra Award from Bangla Academy in 2015.
