Own Correspondent: A young man named Khorshed Alam (30) died under treatment after he was burned by the gas that exploded from the cylinder in South Chittagong’s Lohagara. He died at 1 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, in a hospital in Dhaka. He was burned by an exploded gas fire on Monday afternoon, March 11, in Mannanmistri’s house in Ward No. 6 of Lohagara Upazila Sadar, Kalua. Khorshed Alam is the son of Nurul Islam Nuru of the Alkani neighborhood of the same ward.
It is known that there was a gas explosion from a cylinder in Mannanmistri’s residence. So the housewife immediately called the local shopkeeper, Khorshed Alam, and showed him the incident of the gas explosion. Meanwhile, the fire spread inside the house. Then three family members of Khorshed Alam and Mannanmestri got burned in the fire. However, the cause of the fire is not known. The others who were burned are three members of the same family, including Mannanmistri’s wife, Rijuara Begum. Khorshed Alam is said to be a shopkeeper in the Kalua neighborhood and the father of two daughters.
The dead body of Khorshed Alam was brought to the village house from the hospital at around 2 o’clock on Wednesday, March 13. When the body arrived in the courtyard of the house, a heart-rending scene unfolded with the cries of the relatives. A shadow of mourning falls on Alkani Para and Kaluar Para.
