Own correspondent, Chandnaish: Sona Mia (65), a businessman, was abducted from Chhaydabad Guilachhari area of Chandnaish upazila on March 8 (Friday) afternoon. Sona Mia was not recovered even after 6 days of abduction.

According to family sources, the abductors have been collecting annual fees from him for a long time. When he invested in various businesses including fish projects in Bridge Hill area of Chayedabad No. 3, Hill Terrorists took part in it. Due to that, he was doing business by regularly subsidizing hill terrorists. They abducted him as he failed to pay a large sum of money due to him in the current financial year. In order to get him alive, the hill terrorists are creating pressure to pay the family Rs 20 lakh and not to take any kind of administrative assistance. On the other hand, wives and children of Sona Mia’s 2 families are in fear.

In this regard, police station officer in charge Obaidul Islam admitted the truth of the incident and said that his family did not give any written complaint in this regard. They are not cooperating with the police by giving any information. As a result, he is unable to take any legal measures administratively, he said.
