Dhaka Bureau: On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, offices, banks, and courts will be open for new hours starting Tuesday (March 12).
Recently, the notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration said that on the occasion of fasting, offices in government institutions will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In between, there will be a 15-minute Zohar prayer break from 1:30 PM to 1:30 PM. The weekend will be Friday and Saturday, as usual.
The government determines the office schedule for all the government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous institutions of the country, considering the time of Sehri and Iftar in Ramadan.
Bank Schedule
According to the decision of Bangladesh Bank, bank transaction time has been reduced by 30 minutes during Ramadan. Bank transactions can be made from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. throughout the fasting month. The bank’s office schedule during Ramadan will be from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Until now, it was from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
The court will run on that schedule.
The schedule of the Bangladesh Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Subordinate Courts, and Offices has been fixed for the month of fasting. As per the fixed schedule, the proceedings of the Appellate Division Court will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. However, the activities of the office of the Appellate Division will continue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..
The court proceedings of the High Court Division will continue from 10:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The office will be open from 9:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
According to the schedule of the subordinate court, the proceedings of the court will continue from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday in the month of Ramadan. There will be a break for Zohar prayers from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM.
