Dhaka Bureau: Kachchi Bhai and Dhansindi restaurants in Gulshan-2 of the capital have been fined for not having a fire extinguishing system. Meanwhile, the mobile court has fined Kachchi Bhai 1 lakh taka.
Executive Magistrate of Zone-3 of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Zulkar Nain presided over the court at 12:30 pm on Wednesday (March 6). City Corporation Executive Magistrate Mahmudul Hasan was with him. The operation was conducted in the Gulshan-2 area until half past one in the afternoon.
Executive Magistrate Zulkar Nain said that Kachchi Bhai was fined Tk 1 lakh for not having any documents other than a trade license. Three months of imprisonment have been given in default. Within the next 7 days, all approvals, including fire certificates and environmental clearance, must be completed. If the documents are not prepared, then Kachchi Bhai will be sealed.
Another restaurant named Dhansindi was fined Tk 40 thousand for the same complaint. Besides, a building called Seva House has been fined 50,000 taka for keeping goods in front of the stairs. This building has seven floors.
Meanwhile, when the raiding party left after the fine, a gas cylinder was seen entering the bathroom of Kacchi Bhai restaurant. When asked about keeping the gas cylinder in the bathroom, the Kacchi Bhai restaurant authorities claimed that it was left in the bathroom because there was no gas in the cylinder.
