Laxmipur Correspondent: A bride named Mehrun Nescha Mumu in Kamalnagar, Laxmipur, went to her in-laws house with about 200 books. I’m dreaming of building a library called’mother-in-law’s book room’ in a room of the in-laws’ house. School-college students, along with wives-in-law of the area, will come and read books in that library.
On Monday (February 26) afternoon, Mumu took books from his father’s house and went to his in-laws’ house in Char Falkon village of the upazila. Two days before this, his wedding ceremony was organized.
Dr. Meherun Necha Mumu Char Falkon village. Abadul Haque is the daughter of Chairman Bari Mohiuddin. She is married to Advocate Emran Hossain Nikhil, son of Makchudur Rahman and Ramzan Ali Maulvi Bari of the same village. Mumu is a third-year student of English at Eden College, Dhaka.
Mumu’s family and relatives said that Mumu likes to read books. His favorite hobbies are collecting and reading books. Mumu read all the books taken to the in-laws’ house. Most of these books were bought with money. A few books are received as gifts on various occasions, including birthdays. Mumu’s favorite writer is Humayun Ahmed.
Mumu’s mother, Chaleha Begum, said, My daughter’s hobby is reading books. She is not interested in sarees, bangles, or cosmetics. It was a habit to save money and buy books from childhood. After the marriage, all the books in the collection were taken away while going to the in-laws’ house.
Bride’s mother-in-law Kamrun Nahar said, I have no daughter; I have two sons. The younger son studies in Buet, and I stay alone at home. I got a daughter due to the eldest son. Lakshmi brought many books when this girl came. I am happy with it. From now on, I will save money and buy books for my wife.
Father-in-law Makchudur Rahman said his son’s wife brought books when she came from his father’s house. This is great. It is a matter of luck to get such a boy’s wife.
The new bride, Mehrun Necha Mumu, said that buying and reading books is my hobby. I love getting books as gifts. I didn’t want to leave the books I had collected for a long time at my father’s house. So I brought it with me. I am dreaming of building a library called’mother-in-law’s book house’ in my in-laws’ house. All the wives and mothers-in-law of the area will come and read the book there.
