Nagar Reporter: Three tiger cubs have been born in Chittagong Zoo to Joe Biden and Baghini Jaya. Jaya the tigress gave birth to these three cubs last Friday evening. All three are yellow-striped. However, their gender has not yet been determined. With this, 19 tigers were born at Chittagong Zoo in the last eight years. Two of them were sent to Dhaka Zoo.
At present, the number of tigers is 17. Among them are five white tigers. In 2016, the zoo’s tiger population increased with the breeding of a pair of tigers named Raj-Pari imported from Africa.
The tiger, born in December 2020, was named after US President Joe Biden. Mother Pari did not breastfeed Biden after birth. neglected Later, Biden grew up slowly under the care of Zoo Acting Curator Shahdat Hossain and others.
On the other hand, Jaya was born in July 2018. After Biden grew up, he was kept in the same cage with Jaya. Then, on Friday, three cubs came to their house. All three are now with their mother.
Acting Curator Shahdat Hossain said that after a week, it will be understood which sex the three tigers are. All three breeds are yellow-striped. 19 tigers were originally bred from a pair of tigers.
Chittagong Zoo started in 1989. Currently, there are 520 animals of 70 species.
