Entertainment Desk: The 15th Bangalore International Film Festival is about to begin. Ajmeri Haque Badhan of ‘Rehana Mariam Noor’ fame is going to be the head of the jury there.
In this regard, Bandhan told the media that the festival will begin in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, on February 29 and will continue till March 7. Bangalore Film Festival is being organized by the government. I was invited there, and I am very happy. All this time I was just thinking—I traveled to festivals with ‘Rehana’—now’what will I take with me? Because there is no joy in just spinning. I can go as an actress. But going with your work or for work is a lot of fun. And I want to have that joy. I will try my best to fulfill my duty as a jury.
More than 200 films from more than 50 countries will be screened in the 15 categories of this film festival. Along with the chief judge, Bandhan, there will also be judges from Russia: Nina Kochleiva, Spain’s Rosana Alonso, the United Kingdom’s Carrie Shane, and India’s Sitaram.
Bandhan and his jury will select the best works by looking at the films in the Asian Cinema Competition section of the festival. Apart from this category, the festival also has competition categories for Indian and Kannada films. Apart from the official jury, there will also be juries from FIPRESSI, an international organization of film critics, and Netpack, an Asian-based organization, at this festival.
It is to be noted that before this, Bandhan served as a jury member at the ‘I’m Tomorrow International Film Festival’ held in Brussels last year.
