Nahian, a child at risk of getting circumcised in Noakhali

Noakhali Correspondent: An allegation has been made that a child named Al Nahian Tajbeeb (8) was cut off while undergoing circumcision at Companyganj Health Complex in Noakhali. The child’s life is in danger. The concerned doctor and his associates fled. The incident took place in the emergency department of the health complex on Wednesday (February 21) afternoon.

It is learned that during a hasty circumcision, trainee Deputy Assistant Community Medical Officer Sourav cut off Al Nahyan Tajbeeb’s private parts. The child is bleeding excessively. Screaming father Alamgir Hossain rushed into the operation theater to find the bed of the cabin soaked in his child’s blood. At this time Saurabh Bhowmik fled with two associates.

When the matter was known, the health officer of the hospital, Mohammad Salim, arranged treatment for the child in the hospital cabin.

Dr. Salim told media that Sourav Bhowmick is undergoing training as a trainee Deputy Assistant Community Medical Officer in the emergency department. Saurabh Bhowmick hastily performed the circumcision in the absence of the regular doctor and caused the accident.

He said that the whole matter has been reported to the Civil Surgeon. He ordered departmental action.

Meanwhile, father Fakhrul Alam took Ahnaf Tahmid to undergo Sunnah circumcision at JS Hospital in Malibag yesterday on Tuesday (February 2nd). The family complained that after arriving, the director of the hospital Dr. Under the leadership of SM Muktadir, Tahmid was taken to the operation theater by Dr. Mahabub and Dr. Ishtiaq Azad

After exactly 20 minutes, the family members want to see Ahnaf. When the hospital authorities intervened, the commotion started. After that they declared him dead.

Earlier on December 31, baby Ayan was taken to United Medical College Hospital, Badda, for circumcision. Anesthesia was given to the child around 9 a.m. Later, he was sent to the United Hospital in Gulshan as he did not regain consciousness. He was kept on life support in the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) there. The doctor declared the child dead at midnight on January 7.

Ayaan’s parents allege that the intern doctor administered extra anesthesia during circumcision.
