Khagrachari Correspondent: There has been a collision between a tourist bus and a pickup in Matiranga, Khagrachari. Two people were killed, and 15 others were seriously injured. The condition of several of them is critical.
The accident took place in the Sapmara area of Matiranga on Wednesday (February 21) morning. Khagrachari Superintendent of Police Mukta Dhar confirmed the truth of the incident.
The deceased are Preeti Bala Guha (45), wife of deceased Nani Gopal Guha, and Anima Ghosh (65), wife of deceased Gaurang Ghosh, residents of the Bashundhara area of the district town.
Eyewitnesses said that a pickup with passengers was going to Guimaras from Khagrachari. This incident took place in the Sapmara area, with a tourist bus coming from the opposite direction. Two women in the pickup died on the spot. At least 15 people were injured.
Locals rescued the injured and took them to Khagrachari Sadar Hospital.
Khagrachari Superintendent of Police Mukta Dhar said that two cars involved in the accident are in police custody. The injured have been rescued. Legal action will be taken against those responsible.
