Mymensingh Correspondent: Three members of the same family died in a tragic road accident while attending the funeral of a relative in Mymensingh. Four more people died in the same accident.
The accident took place on the Mymensingh-Sherpur road in the Barabila area near Alalpur in Sadar Upazila around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 16.
The deceased are Bablu Ahmed (45), his wife Sheila Akhter (35) of Asabat village of Rambhadrapur, Phulpur upazila of Mymensingh, and their son Md. Sadman (7). The identities of the other four people killed in the accident have not been found.
It is known that the deceased businessman Bablu Ahmed lived with his wife and children in the Char Ishwardiya area of Mymensingh Sadar Upazila. Mansoor was going to perform the funeral prayers for Ali. But they could not go to that funeral. Their lives were lost on the road in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG.
OC Mainuddin of Kotwali Model Police Station said that the tragic accident took place when a passenger bus leaving from Dhaka to Nalitabari collided head-on with a CNG train coming from the opposite direction to Mymensingh. The CNGT was overturned, and seven people, including the driver, died on the spot. Among the dead are three members of the same family. The bodies of the deceased have been recovered and sent to the morgue.
Meanwhile, Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Didare Alam Maqsood Chowdhury visited the spot soon after the accident. He said that Tk 20,000 will be paid for the burial of the deceased, and a 5-member investigation committee headed by the Additional District Magistrate has been formed in the incident.
