Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: There is no end to the complaints against the spa centers in Kalatali, the tourist zone of Cox’s Bazar. Various crimes, including prostitution, blackmailing of tourists, and robbery, are taking place behind the spa. This crime cannot be stopped even with the repeated raids of law and order forces.
The Tourist Police have now arrested four women from the alleged spa center of a hotel called Beach World. They are accused of prostitution and blackmailing tourists.
On the other hand, in a separate operation, 21 women and 12 men were arrested from the hideout of an infamous cottage in the cottage zone. Tourist police said they are all involved in prostitution, blackmailing tourists, and extorting money.
Additional DIG of Tourist Police Apel Mahmood gave details about this in a briefing on Monday afternoon. He said, “Tourist police had information that immoral activities were going on in the spa center of a fake journalist at Beach World. Five women involved in immoral activities have been arrested in raids there.”
Additional DIG Apple Mahmud said, “Criminals are harassing tourists by committing various crimes under the cover of a spa. On the other hand, the organized circle of men and women is carrying out various activities. The tourism industry is in disrepute. So the Tourist Police is carrying out operations to catch the criminals.”
Arrested: 38 men and women filed a case and were sent to jail through the court.
