Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Cox’s Bazar district administration has decided to stop the trip to St. Martin due to the ongoing tension on the Myanmar border. From February 10, travel from Cox’s Bazar and Teknaf to St. Martin will not be allowed.
Cox’s Bazar Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Yamin Hossain confirmed the matter on Wednesday (February 7) around 9:30 p.m.
He said, for the sake of security, the district administration has announced the closure of the tourist ships going to St. Martin on February 10. No one may go to St. Martin’s until further orders.
Earlier this morning, BGB Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuz Zaman Siddiqui, while inspecting Bandarban’s Tumbru and Ghumdhum border and adjoining BOP, advised stopping travel on the St. Martin route.
