City Reporter: Chittagong Metropolitan Police has issued several instructions on traffic in the city for the sake of smooth traffic management during the MBBS admission test in 2024.
On Wednesday (February 7), the city police issued a traffic control notification on the roads around the MBBS admission test centers in the city.
It is informed in the notification that the admission test for the MBBS course for the academic year 2023-2024 will be held at (1) Chittagong Medical College Campus, (2) Chittagong College, and (3) Ispahani Public School and College from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, February 9.
For the sake of fair traffic management during the test at the mentioned centers, all types of traffic will be temporarily controlled by setting up road barriers on the following roads in the city from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on that day.
1. Chittagong Medical College Road from the Alikhan intersection of the city; 2. Chittagong College Road from Carey Junction; 3. From Gani Bakery, Chittagong College Road; 4. From Carey Road, from the north-east corner of the parade ground. Chittagong Medical College Road from Parwarka Junction.
Candidate transport vehicles will use the centrally convenient locations of the candidates, i.e., Gani Bakery, Carey Mor, the north-east corner of Parade Ground, Alikhan Mor, and Pramwar Mor, as dropping points.
It should be noted that senior officers and doctors of Chittagong Medical College and Hospital, examination-related persons, ambulances transporting patients, and other vehicles transporting emergency patients will be exempted from traffic control management.
In the case of other vehicles, it is advised to use alternative roads, avoiding the road in front of the test centers and surrounding roads and road barrier points as much as possible.
The traffic department of CMP is expecting full cooperation from all concerned, including city dwellers, in order to conduct the MBBS admission examination smoothly.
