Dhaka Bureau: On the second day of Vishwa Ijtema, dowry-free marriages were organized today. The marriage will be completed on Saturday (February 3) after Asr Ijtemasthal next to Bayan Manch, according to the marriage deen of Hazrat Fatima (R.A.) and Hazrat Ali (R.A.). Habibullah Raihan, media coordinator of Biswa Ijtema, confirmed the truth of this information.
He said that more than 100 couples are scheduled to be married without dowry today. Between 80 and 130 couples are married without dowry every year. Last year, 70 marriages were also taught.
Before this, a list of people from the bride and groom’s sides will be collected for the wedding. Marriage khutba is delivered before the wedding. At the end of the speech, the marriage was conducted with the consent of the parents of the bride and groom. After the wedding, dates are distributed among the relatives and devotees of the couple present.
Tabligh Jamaat followers from all over the country as well as abroad have been coming to the shores of Turag in Tongir since two days ago to join the Ijtema. They are coming to Ijtema in groups by buses, trucks, private cars, microbuses, and pickups. After Fajr on Friday, the main program of Ijtema began with the Am Bayan of Pakistan’s Maulana Ahmad Butler.
This annual gathering of Tabligh Jamaat will be held in two phases, as before. The first phase of Ijtema will be held on February 2, 3, and 4, and the second phase will be held on February 9, 10, and 11, with a gap of four days.
