Dhaka Bureau: Party Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu commented that the Jatiya Party is the only opposition party in the Jatiya Sangsad. He said that we, the opposition party in the parliament, have come to the attention of the speaker. It will be mentioned in the proceedings of Parliament. The number is not big; who is the opposition in the parliament? That is the main thing.
Secretary General of the party Mujibul Haque Chunnu said this to the journalists at the office of the JPA chairman in Banani on Monday (January 29).
At that time, Chunnu said, We are the only opposition party in the parliament. The decision given by the Speaker, the recognition of the JPA Chairman as the Leader of the Opposition, has been right.
Chunnu also said, We thank the Speaker for this decision. This decision of the Speaker will serve as a precedent. The Jatiya Party, under the leadership of GM Quader and Anisul Islam Mahmud, will be able to play the role of the opposition party in parliament. This is the opportunity to prove the people’s hope that Japa is really an opposition party. Criticism was among the people, domesticated, or such words. In order to prevent these words from being used again, we will continue to play a role in Parliament and outside of Parliament. I will work to get acceptance from people.
Meanwhile, the general secretary of the party informed me that GM Quader and Mujibul Haque Chunnu were not taken into account.
He said he (Roshan Ershad) is very sick. He does not have the mental state to make normal political decisions. It is being used by some people to serve their nefarious interests, which is very sad.
Stating that there is no discomfort in Japan over Roshan Ershad’s announcement, the Secretary General said, Roshan Ershad is our sponsor. We respect him so much that even if he makes an unconstitutional decision, we don’t take it into account. He is being used in an unorganized manner. And of those who are with him, none of them hold any position in the party. Not even ordinary members.
