Faridpur Correspondent: The body found in a locked suitcase left at the Faridpur Municipal Bus Terminal has not been identified for two days. However, the police say that they are on the verge of solving the mystery.
Last Saturday (January 27), the body was recovered by the Faridpur Kotyali Police Station around 11:00 AM. In this incident, the police filed a murder case as the plaintiff on Sunday afternoon.
According to the police, the large suitcase was lying near the electricity pole in front of the Golden Line bus counter at the entrance of the terminal. Around 10 a.m., it came to the attention of the people present. After not finding the owner, they informed the police. After that, the police of Kotwali police station reached the spot around 11 o’clock, broke the lock of the suitcase, and recovered a body.
Eyewitnesses said that Mahendra brought a woman wearing a burqa into this suitcase. The suitcase was very heavy; three-four people lowered it together. Then they left the suitcase and went to the hotel to have breakfast. They were never seen again. The bus workers reported the incident to the police, as no owner was found after a few hours. When the police came and opened it, it was found that the body, which was wearing a lungi and sweater, was covered with clothes.
Sub-inspector Shamim Hasan, the plaintiff in the murder case filed at Kotyali police station, said on Monday morning, “We are on the verge of unraveling the mystery of the incident.” Hopefully, I can inform you very soon.
Hasanuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station, said that the estimated age of the unidentified body would be 45. After the post-mortem report and the arrest of the accused, we will be able to give the reason for the murder.
