A night watchman was killed in the Rohingya camp

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: A man was beaten and hacked to death in the Jamtoli Rohingya camp of Ukhia in Cox’s Bazar for being dominant. The killing happened in front of the C-1 Block of Jamtoli Rohingya Camp in Ukhia around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday (January 28).

The deceased Md. Yashin (35) is the son of Abdul Bari, a resident of C-1 Block of the same camp. He was the night watchman of the learning center run by a private development agency for children in the camp.

Shamim Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Ukhia police station, said that the body was recovered and sent for a post-mortem with the help of the camp administration. Since the incident, law and order forces have been on the spot at the Jamtoli Rohingya camp in Ukhia.

In this regard, Ukhia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shamim Hossain said that while a Rohingya was on duty, 7-8 active members of ARSA beat and hacked Yasin to death and escaped. The dead body was recovered and sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
