Dhaka Bureau: Vice Minister of the International Office of the Communist Party of China, Sun Haya, is coming to Bangladesh today on Tuesday for a four-day visit. He will have a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina tomorrow, Wednesday.
It is known that Sun Haya is coming to Bangladesh on a special flight after a three-day visit to the Maldives. In this visit, apart from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the speaker of Jatiya Sangsad, Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury, and the General Secretary of the Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, will have a courtesy call. Besides, he will visit the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at 32 Dhanmondi to pay his respects to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
This is the first high-level visit by China since the current government came to power for a fourth term. Besides, this is the first visit of a foreign representative to Bangladesh after the Awami League, led by Sheikh Hasina, formed the government for the fourth time in a row in the 12th National Parliament Elections.
Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on January 11, after the formation of the current government. This time, Chinese President and General Secretary of CPC Xi Jingping sent his representative to Dhaka to give a message of strengthening relations with the Bangladesh government and ruling party.
