The Crime Desk: The World Bank will provide 700 million dollars in grants and soft loans for the development of the Rohingya population who came to Bangladesh from Myanmar and the residents of the Chittagong region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Hasan Mahmud, informed us of this information. Earlier, the country director of the World Bank in Bangladesh, Abdullahi Sekh, met the foreign minister.
The foreign minister said that the World Bank will give 315 million dollars as a grant to the Rohingya people. The remaining $385 million will go towards host community development. It will be used in various essential areas in Chittagong Division.
The minister also said that the World Bank currently has 15 billion dollars in investment in 56 projects in Bangladesh. The country director of the World Bank assured to increase cooperation in the future.
