Dhaka Bureau: The Working Committee of the Awami League has decided not to give party symbols in upazila elections. General Secretary of the party and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader told reporters after the working committee meeting at Ganobhaban.
He said that this decision of the working committee will be finalized later in the joint meeting of the party’s local nomination board and parliamentary nomination board. However, the decision taken by the working committee remains valid.
Obaidul Quader said that the twelfth national parliament election centered on the moral pollution that has been created between independent candidates, party candidates, and all the leaders and activists. Its traces still remain in many places. To eliminate it in some places, the 8 departmental committees of our party have called all the concerned people to Dhaka and told them to solve it.
Obaidul Quader said that after the announcement of the schedule, a decision will be taken in the meeting of the party’s Parliamentary Nomination Board.
The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said that the world situation and the Bangladesh situation were also discussed in the meeting.
