Anwara Correspondent: A microbus lost control after hitting the road divider at the Anwara end of the Bangabandhu Tunnel. Seven people were injured when the microbus overturned on Tuesday around 6:30 a.m.
The accident took place on the Mohammadpur approach road at the Anwara end of the tunnel.
The injured were identified as Gazi Mahbubur Rahman Roni, security personnel and naval officer, microbus driver Rubel, passengers Ali Mortuza, Rashedul Islam, Farhana, Munna, and Kanti.
All of them are residents of the Panchlaish Thana area of the city. The condition of three of them is critical. The injured have been sent to Chittagong Metropolitan and Chittagong Medical.
Confirming the matter, Anwara Police Inspector (Investigation) Mohiuddin Ahmed said, ‘A microbus heading towards the tunnel from Anwara end hit the security box in charge of security there and overturned on the road divider. Seven people were injured in this incident.
Tunnel Authority Assistant Manager. Jahangir Alam said, “A microbus accident took place in the China Road area of the tunnel in the morning. Several people in the microbus, including a Navy member, were injured in the incident.
