Besides, 512 people were killed and 475 injured in 520 railway accidents in one year. 91 people were killed, 152 injured, and 109 missing in 148 accidents on the waterway.

According to the report, 1,712 people were killed and 2,381 injured in 1,736 road accidents in Dhaka Division in 2023. 1 thousand 205 people were killed and 2 thousand 294 injured in 1 thousand 233 road accidents in Chittagong division. 764 people were killed and 1,788 people were injured in 765 road accidents in Khulna division. 379 people were killed and 992 injured in 381 road accidents in Barisal Division. 464 people were killed and 665 injured in 418 road accidents in Mymensingh division. 403 people were killed and 926 injured in 371 road accidents in the Sylhet division. 626 people were killed and 868 injured in 569 road accidents in Rangpur division, and 793 people were killed and 1,168 injured in 788 road accidents in Rajshahi division.
1 thousand 950 drivers, 968 pedestrians, 485 transport workers, 697 students, 97 teachers, 154 law enforcement personnel, 985 women, 612 children, 30 journalists, 32 doctors, 16 brave freedom fighters, 8 lawyers, 10 engineers, and 111 leaders and workers of different political parties have been identified.
Among those killed in the accident are 73 members of the law and order forces, including 16 Army personnel, 40 police personnel, 1 RAB personnel, 7 BGB personnel, 3 Navy personnel, 3 Ansar personnel, 2 Fire Service personnel, and 1 NSI personnel. Besides, there are 13 brave freedom fighters, 15 journalists, 647 women, 466 children, 416 students, 81 teachers, 1 thousand 526 drivers, 260 transport workers, 8 engineers, 7 lawyers, and 77 different politicians. Party leaders and 22 doctors.
According to the association’s report, 52.83 percent of the total accidents were pedestrians hit by vehicles, 20.5 percent were head-on collisions, 14.29 percent lost control and fell into ditches, 11.4 percent were miscellaneous, 0.27 percent were wheel-rolling, and 0.68 percent were trains. Vehicle collisions occur.
According to the observations of the Yatri Kalyan Samity, reckless speeding, dangerous overtaking, road construction defects, and unfit vehicles are the causes of road accidents.
