Satkania Correspondent: In the post-election violence in Satkania, a UP member supporting the boat symbol was allegedly beaten up with gun butts, sticks, and iron rods by rival candidates’ people. The UP member is suffering from severe injuries in this incident and is dying. However, the UP Chairman claimed that this incident happened because of local disputes.
The injured UP member has been identified as Mohammad Manzoor Alam (42). He is a UP member of Ward No. 3 of the Eochia Union of Satkania Upazila and the son of the deceased Kabir Ahmad.
The incident took place in the area in front of Babul’s cooling corner in the Pahartali Alinagar area of Ward No. 3 of Eochia Union of the Upazila at around 8 p.m. on Friday, January 12.
Satkania Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Priton Sarkar told the media that no complaint has been filed at the police station so far. We will investigate and take appropriate legal action if we receive a written complaint.
