Dhaka Bureau: The President has voted in the upcoming 12th National Parliament election. Sahabuddin and his wife, First Lady Dr. Rebecca Sultana. They voted by postal ballot from Bangabhaban on Wednesday (January 3). It was earlier informed by his press wing that he would vote for the president through a postal ballot instead of going to the center to avoid the suffering of the voters.
Four types of voters who cannot vote at the center can vote by mail (postal ballot). But for that, you have to apply to the Election Commission in advance. In order to vote by postal ballot, the application has to be submitted to the concerned returning officer within 15 days after the announcement of the election schedule. A postal ballot has been introduced since the 9th National Assembly election. The EC has also launched a campaign to encourage postal ballot voting in this year’s parliamentary elections.
Earlier on November 15, after announcing the schedule of the twelfth parliamentary elections, the EC published a notification to vote by mail.
