Dhaka Bureau: Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has announced the party manifesto for the 12th National Assembly elections under the slogan ‘Development is visible, employment will increase’ under the theme of Smart Bangladesh. This year’s manifesto has given special priority to 11 issues.
These 11 issues came up in the announcement of the Awami League president’s manifesto at the capital’s Pan Pacific Hotel Sonargaon on Wednesday, December 27.
Sheikh Hasina said: You vote for us; we will give you development, peace, and prosperity. By the hands of the Bangladesh Awami League, the bearer of the spirit of the liberation war, Bangladesh will be established as a high-middle-income country by 2031 and a developed-rich smart ‘Sonar Bangla’ by 2041. Come, give us the opportunity to serve you by voting for the election symbol of the Bangladesh Awami League once again.
The Awami League has given special priority to the 11 issues:

(1) To make every effort to keep the prices within the affordability of all.
(2) ensuring vocational education and youth employment.
(3) Building smart Bangladesh based on modern technology.
(4) Increased investment in integrated farming systems, mechanization, and processing for profitable agriculture.
(5) Expansion of industry by leveraging visible infrastructure and increasing investment.
(6) Increasing efficiency and capacity in the financial sector, including banks.
(7) Making health care affordable for low-income people.
(8) Inclusion of all in the universal pension system.
(9) Ensuring the effectiveness and accountability of law enforcement agencies.
(10) Preventing communalism and all forms of terrorism and militancy.
(11) To promote the protection and practice of democratic systems at all levels.
In 2008, before the parliamentary elections, Sheikh Hasina announced the election manifesto with the ‘Day Change Charter’. There was a promise in that manifesto that Bangladesh would be digital by 2021. The slogan of the 2014 tenth parliamentary election manifesto was ‘Bangladesh is moving forward’.
Before the 11th National Parliament elections in 2018, the Awami League announced the election manifesto with the slogan ‘Bangladesh on the march of prosperity’.
