Dhaka Bureau: Eastern Tubes Ltd., under Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation, at 10:00 a.m. today. Organized by ETL, “not only slogans against corruption, we need to practice honesty” in the anti-corruption discussion meeting, said the secretary of the organization. Nazmul Haque Pradhan said that consumerism is the biggest cause of corruption.
The discussion meeting was organized in the meeting room of Eastern Tubes Ltd., located in the Tejgaon industrial area of Dhaka. The officers, employees, and workers of the company participated in the meeting.
BSEC Secretary, Chief Guest, and Chief Personnel Administration Officer, Mr. Mohammad Sarwar Jahan, were present as special guests.
Syed Mohammad Saherul Azam, Managing Director of ETL, presided.
In the speech of the chief guest, the secretary of the organization also said that the addiction to corruption has locked people in a one-dimensional addiction to increase wealth and enjoy life; this kind of mentality has been created among people today. There is also family pressure behind corruption to a large extent; there is no way to deny it.
He mentioned various measures taken by the government to prevent corruption. The Islamic way of life can also play an important role in preventing corruption.
In his speech, the special guest said, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman recalled all the steps taken against corruption after the independence of the country. Bangabandhu, who undertook the task of building the country, is still ongoing. We can devote ourselves to the work of building this country.
He recalled the golden past of BSEC and was called upon to bring back that golden past by being responsible and aware and focusing on the work by establishing good governance.
