City Group Chairman Fazlur Rahman is no more

Dhaka Bureau: Chairman of City Group and Time Television, Fazlur Rahman (77), is no more. He died at four o’clock in the morning on Monday. After Asr, his funeral will be completed in Gendaria’s Dhupkhola field. Then he will be buried in Jurain Cemetery. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam condoled the death of this eminent industrialist.

He had been suffering from respiratory disease for a long time. At the time of his death, he left behind numerous benefactors, including his wife, one son, and three daughters.

According to family sources, he worked until Sunday evening, the day before his death. If he felt sick later in the night, he was taken to the hospital as soon as possible. He died there under treatment.

On February 6, 1972, the activities of City Group started under the hands of Fazlur Rahman by undertaking the production of mustard oil. After the success of the first venture, Citigroup started investing in new areas. At this time, mainly investments are made in production, industry, and trading.
