Dhaka Bureau: The Awami League has left 32 seats for the 14-party alliance partners and allies in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections. Out of this, 26 seats have been given to the Jatiya Party (Japa) and 6 seats to the partners.
Awami League office secretary Biplab Barua gave this information while talking to reporters after a meeting with the Election Commission secretary at Agargaon on Sunday (December 17). Japa has been left out in 26 seats. The Awami League has sent a letter to the Election Commission to withdraw the candidature of the boat candidate in these seats.
The Jatiya Party (JPA) candidates in the 26 exempted seats are Hafiz Uddin Ahmed in Thakurgaon-3 seat, Rana Mohammad Sohail in Nilphamari-3 seat, Ahsan Adelur Rahman in Nilphamari-4 seat, Hossain Maqbul Shahriar in Rangpur-1 seat, and GM in Rangpur-3 seat. Quader, AKM Mustafizur Rahman is in the Kurigram-1 seat, Panir Uddin Ahmed is in the Kurigram-2 seat, Shamim Haider Patwari is in the Gaibandha-1 seat, and Md. is in the Gaibandha-2 seat. Abdur Rashid Sarkar, Shariful Islam Jinnah in Bogra-2 seat, Md. in Bogra-3 seat. Nurul Islam Talukder, Satkhira-2 Constituency. Ashrafuzzaman, Ruhul Amin Howladar in Patuakhali-1 seat, Golam Kibria Tipu in Barisal-3 seat, and Md. in Pirojpur-3 seat. Mashrekul Azam Ravi. Apart from this, Salah Uddin Ahmed Mukti is in the Mymensingh-5 seat, Fakhrul Imam is in the Mymensingh-8 seat, and Kishoreganj-3 seat. Mujibul Haque Chunnu, Manikganj-1 constituency Zahirul Alam Rubel, Dhaka-18 Sherifa Quader, Habiganj-1 constituency Md. Abdul Munim Chowdhury, Md. Abdul Hamid in Brahmanbaria-2 Constituency, Masud Uddin Chowdhury in Feni-3 Constituency, Anisul Islam Mahmud in Chittagong-5 Constituency, Suleman Alam Sheth in Chittagong-8 Constituency, and Salim Osman in Narayanganj-5 Constituency.
The 14-party coalition partners will be elected in six seats with the boat symbol. They are: Anwar Hossain Manju, Chairman of Jatiya Party-JP in Pirojpur-2; Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon in Barisal-2; JSD President Hasanul Haque Inu in Kushtia-2; AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen in Bogra-5. (JSAD); Fazle Hossain Badsha (Workers Party) is running in Rajshahi-2; and Mosharraf Hossain (JSAD) is running in Lakshmipur-4.
