Jamalpur Correspondent: Three people, including a vegetable trader, were killed in a three-way collision between a bus pickup and an autorickshaw in Jamalpur. Five more people were injured in this incident.
The accident took place on Friday (December 15) around 6 a.m. at the Titpalla bus stand on the Jamalpur-Tangail highway.
The deceased are Anwar Hossain (40), son of Salim Uddin of Dhanbari Upazila of Tangail; Shamsul Haque (50), son of Abdus Sobhan of Chhontia area of Jamalpur Sadar; and pickup van driver Suja Mia (40). The deceased Anwar and Shamsul are both vegetable traders.
Mohammad Kamal Hossain, in charge of the Narayanpur Investigation Center, said that a pickup van carrying vegetables collided with a Dhaka-bound Shadnan Enterprise bus at Titpalla on the Jamalpur-Tangail highway on Friday morning. At this time, there was a collision with a CNG in the back of the pickup van. Two vegetable traders died on the spot, and six others were injured. The injured received first aid at Jamalpur General Hospital. However, pickup van driver Suja Mia died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
He also said that after the incident, the bus driver and helper ran away, but the bus was detained. The process of bringing the bus driver and helper under the law is going on. The bodies have been sent to the Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for a post-mortem.
