Dhaka Bureau: Barrister Mainul Hossain, former advisor and senior lawyer of the caretaker government, is no more. He was undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital for the past few days.
He died on Saturday (December 9) around 6 p.m. while undergoing treatment in the hospital (Inna-Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun). Apart from two sons and a daughter, he left behind numerous benefactors.
It should be noted that Barrister Moinul Hossain was formed in 2007. As an advisor to the caretaker government formed under the leadership of Fakhruddin Ahmad, he held the responsibilities of the Ministry of Information, Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Housing and Public Works, and the Ministry of Lands.
He was the son of the famous journalist Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia. He completed his graduation from Dhaka University in 1961 with a political science subject. He obtained the degree of barrister-in-law in 1965.
His personal assistant (PS) Raju Mia said that his first funeral will be held at Baridhara in the capital, while the second funeral will be held at the Supreme Court premises.
