Own Correspondent: UP member and Jamaat cadre Jasim Uddin Helali (40), a fugitive accused in multiple cases, has been arrested by a RAB-7 team in Lohagara, South Chittagong.
He was arrested at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, December 8, from the Daruchchalam Ibtedayi Madrasa area of the new neighborhood of Charamba Union of the upazila. The arrested Jasim Uddin is Naibe Ameer of Jamaat of Charamba Union of Helali Upazila and member of Ward No. 3 of the local UP. After the arrest, he was handed over to the Lohagara police station, said the officer on duty.
The officer-in-charge of Lohagara police station, Md. Rashedul Islam, said that there are eight cases of various crimes against this cadre, including weapons, sabotage, and explosives laws. He was avoiding arrest by using various tricks.
