Lohagara Correspondent: In the Nayapara area of Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in the Nayapara area of Lohagara, a grandchild died after being crushed by the wheels of a truck. Another person was injured at this time.
Local eyewitnesses said that on Monday (December 4) at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon, the motorcycle headed for Cox’s Bazar overtook the truck in the same direction and fell on the spot due to the impact, and the motorcycle riders were crushed under the wheels of the truck. Two people died on the spot. One more person was injured in this incident.
The deceased are Iqbal Hossain Babul (55), 2nd son of the deceased Hochan Khalifa of Laili’s father’s house in the old BOC area of Amirabad Union, Ward No. 7, and Anahida Khanam Ajwa, the eldest daughter of South African expatriate Tarek Hossain Bhutto, the house of former chairman Mosad Hossain Chowdhury of Chadaha Union, the granddaughter of the deceased Babul. Samira Akhter (23) of Tarek Hossain Bhutto, the daughter of Babul, who was killed in this incident, and a resident of South Africa, was seriously injured.
Babul’s wife, Khursida Begum, told the media that their daughter-in-law has built a new house. So at around 2:30 in the afternoon, they were going to the mother-in-law’s house of the daughter-in-law with their daughter and granddaughter to see the daughter-in-law’s house.
On the way back from there in the afternoon, my husband and granddaughter died in a truck accident.
Dr. Toufiq Sekander, the doctor on duty at the emergency department of Lohagara Upazila Health Complex, said that three people were brought to the hospital with serious injuries in a road accident at around five in the afternoon, but two died before reaching the hospital.
Samira Akhter, seriously injured, was sent to Chittagong Medical College (CHMEC) Hospital for advanced treatment after first aid.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dohazari Highway Police Station, Khan Mohammad Irfan, told the media that the police were immediately sent to the spot to recover the body; the killer truck was seized, but the driver escaped. Appropriate legal action is being taken in this regard.
