Own Correspondent: Two stolen cows and 300 liters of Pahari liquor have been recovered in a separate operation of the Lohagara Police Station of South Chittagong. Meanwhile, 2 people were arrested for stealing cows and 1 person was arrested for smuggling stolen liquor. 2 people along with 2 stolen cows were arrested from Harbang area of Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar in the early morning of Sunday 3rd December.
The arrested are Sohail (37) son of deceased Sahab Uddin of Uttar Saudagar Para of Lohagara Upazila Sadar and Nazrul Islam (36) son of Ahmad Kabir of Billa Para of the same union.
2 cows were stolen from the cattle shed of Rashedul Islam at Joynagar of Pantrisha village of Chunti union of Lohagara upazila on Saturday night on November 2. When the thieves were taking 2 cows in a truck towards Cox’s Bazar, the police managed to arrest them based on a tip-off. 2 cows were seized.
On the other hand, Abdul Shukur (52), son of deceased Abdus Chobahan of Satkania upazila, was arrested with 300 liters of mountain liquor on Sunday morning. He was arrested with liquor from Jangailya area of Lohagara upazila in Chunti. He was returning to Satkania on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway with stolen liquor from Aziznagar of hilly Lama upazila in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw. A separate case has been filed in Lohagara police station regarding cow theft and mountain liquor smuggling.
